NEWS RELEASE
Welcome to Unger’s new age of nLite’ment
New Unger HiFlo™ nLite – Evolutionary Water Fed Pole Technology for Professionals
Unger is ushering in a new age of enlightenment with the launch of HiFlo™ nLite – the most advanced water-fed pole system to hit the market in years.
This latest innovation from Unger, the company that provides smart cleaning solutions to more than 80 countries worldwide, will change the way that windows and façades are cleaned forever by combining the best features of its telescopic and modular poles into a brand new system that delivers unrivalled results and adaptability.
The key features of the new Unger HiFloTM nLite system are:
Innovative engineering
• Perfect balance – better rigidity for more control, and yet up to 50% lighter in weight thanks to its carbon fiber technology
• Hi-Tech design – every part of the system, from clamps and levers to brushes has been created to deliver the highest standards with cutting edge looks
Ease of use
• Comfort and safety – the weight/rigidity balance makes HiFloTM nLite easier and more comfortable to use, even for longer periods of time
• Easy assembly – extensions can be added quickly and easily, and equipment adjusted to tackle any cleaning situation
Adaptability
• Mix and match – only use as many poles or attachments as you need
• Multi-talented system – the HiFloTM nLite can be used to clean glass and building facades, stainless steel, solar panels, signage, and vehicles
• Unique hose management system – allows the user to have the hose inside or outside the pole
The highest professional cleaning standards are even easier to achieve with the HiFloTM nLite system thanks to its perfect balance between weight and rigidity. Not only are the poles lighter than conventional versions, the use of cutting edge design and technology means that even when extensions are added rigidity is not compromised, and yet the weight and ergonomics of the system still make it a pleasure to use.
The four section master pole cleans up to a height of 6.63m/22ft, but taller locations are easily reached by adding two-stage extensions as needed to the base of the master pole. These extensions, each adding another potential 11ft of reach but crucially not adding anything to the width and feel of the pole, measure 35mm in diameter – an optimum size that fits easily into the hands of the professional for quick and comfortable cleaning. Even if you’re cleaning to a height of around 65ft the HiFloTM nLite offers the ‘gold standard’ in terms of ease of use and results – because it combines just the right amount of rigidity to control your cleaning, but in a lightweight system that’s better for the professional to use.
Every part of the new system has been designed specifically with the user in mind. The clamps, which adjust pole height or attach the extensions, are simple to operate by hand – no tools needed – and easily adjustable to ensure the right tension; plus the gooseneck attachment is made from carbon fiber, keeping weight to a minimum. Even the brushes are lighter – but that doesn’t mean less features or functionality. One of the brushes, at 60cm/24in, is large enough to quickly clean solar panels, featuring bristles designed to get into the smallest corner and help with scrubbing actions; and whereas conventional brushes usually only have two jets, HiFloTM nLite brushes can feature up to ten quick release jets, making it much easier to control the water flow and rinse surfaces.
Bruno Niklaus, Unger’s Global Vice President of Marketing, said: “We believe that the HiFlo™ nLite is a truly revolutionary new product, the next generation of water-fed cleaning pole systems. We are confident that HiFlo™ nLite will be received enthusiastically by window cleaners and contract cleaners across the globe, thanks to its innovative features, ease of use and cost benefits. The launch of HiFlo™ nLite is a high point in Unger’s history, a real leap forward in the evolution of professional cleaning equipment.”
If you want to be ‘enlightened’ the HiFlo™ nLite will be unveiled to the global cleaning industry on stand 1.205 at ISSA/Interclean, Amsterdam RAI, Netherlands 8-11 May. It will be available in the U.S. in July 2012.

Waterfed Class on WCR - Episode 13 - reducing fatigue
This episode teaches various techniques the wfp operator can use to reduce fatigue. Fatigue can not only wear on a person and increase risk of injury, but it also slows down production and thus impacts profits.
One thing not mentioned in the video is the weight of your pole and the rigidity of your pole both greatly impact how much the operator will get fatigued. While carbon fiber poles are more expensive to buy up front, I honestly believe they save money in the long run because they are lighter and more rigid than poles made from any other material. Lighter, more rigid poles means less fatigue on the operator. Less fatigue on the operator means increased production, and increased production means greater profit.
You can find everything you need to clean windows with a waterfed pole in our store. Just click the store links above.

Waterfed Class on WCR - Episode 12 - Solar panels
Solar panels are a VERY profitable add on for those with waterfed poles. And, it is a much safer alternative to other solar panel cleaning methods because you will often be able to do the panels from the ground instead of climbing onto a rooftop.
This episode teaches the basic technique for cleaning solar panels with your waterfed pole. You can find all the products featured in the video in our store by clicking any of the store links above.

Waterfed Class on WCR - Episode 11 - Screens
Many people who are either new to pure water, or who are thinking of getting into pure water window cleaning, wonder how one can benefit from pure water on residential cleans when there are screens to deal with on the windows. The thought is, if I have to ladder up to get the screen off, there's no point in using a waterfed pole to clean the window.
This is not a problem...it is an opportunity!
This week's episode talks about screens....how to remove them, how to re-install, how to clean, how to upsell deep cleaning, etc. Even if you don't have a pure water system or a waterfed pole, you can benefit from this video.
And, we've saved our best sale for this last episode. Today through Monday 8/1/2011, we're giving you $100 off a 50 foot Gardiner SLX carbon fiber waterfed pole. Simply click the waterfed store banner above, then do a search for "SLX". Put a 50 foot SLX in your cart. At checkout, enter the promo code 100SLX, and you'll receive $100 off. This is good for the 50 foot SLX only.
BTW, don't worry.....season 2 of Waterfed Class will be here before you know it.

How would you do these windows?
Check out the obstruction 3 stories up.
I'm going to be doing this building....all 3 stories of it...with my feet firmly on the ground. How? With a waterfed pole of course. But what about those obstructions? A 24 inch deep reach gooseneck won't even reach over those, as they're about 30 inches deep and 3 stories up.
I'll be using Unger's revolutionary Multilink gooseneck system. The locking collars in the Multilink system allow the user to connect several components, and align them all to usable angles.
I'll be doing a Waterfed Class on WCR (season 2) episode about this very job and the Unger Multilink system. For now, you'll have to imagine how it's done. Check out Unger's full Multilink gooseneck system now by clicking the waterfed store links above. Once there, look for the gooseneck section and the Unger multilink system.

Waterfed Class on WCR - Episode 7 - Top down technique
This weeks episode demonstrates the "top down" technique for cleaning windows on a residence. You can also apply the same logic to commercial windows, although that technique was demonstrated in last week's video. This will show you the best technique to get these types of windows done quickly and spot free.
On a side note, you may notice that I was having a little difficulty with scrubbing the windows. I was using a hog's hair brush on the pole in this episode. Hog's hair has more scrubbing power, but it also has a lot more drag on the glass than nylon brushes do. I quite often use hog's hair on first time residential cleans. But, this does make 2nd floor windows that are over rooftops a little harder to do, as you will see in the video.

Unger's multilink goosneck system.
I've been using Unger's multilink wfp gooseneck system for the last couple weeks.....Love it. It allowed me to reach over a 2 & 1/2 foot ledge 4 stories up. I would not have been able to do this with the other gooseneck systems out there. They've got a unique feature that allows you to lock down the gooseneck in any position you want. The other goosenecks available you just tighten down and wherever they get tight, that's where you use it. Because of that, you can't put 2 other goosenecks together because the angles won't line up. But, Unger's adjustable lock down collars on the multilink system allows you to connect 2 or more goosenecks and line them up properly.
The Unger multilink goosneck is available now. Click links above to purchase. Thanks for stopping by.
